Well I finally crossed the 190 threshold this morning. I'm not sure how I got there due to eating too much for Easter dinner, but here I am. I weighed 189 this morning and I have 14lbs to go for my goal. Getting busier at work will help as I always lose weight through the summer and gain in the winter. If I can just eat healthier and in smaller portions, I should be able to make my goal.
I played golf on Saturday when we cancelled the St Patrick's Day tourney due to the forecast of cold, windy conditions. I thought I had made a mistake (to cancel the tournament) when I walked out the house in the morning...but by 11:00am when the easter bunny made his appearance, it was clear it was the correct choice to cancel the event. 45 degrees, windy and cloudy are not the most favorable conditions for play.
Three players came out to play and I joined them for my second round of the season. I played much better than my first round of the year, but only scored a couple of shots better (77). I hit two very poor tee shots (OB #3, #17) which cost me greatly. My putting was greatly improved as I corrected my problem of hanging on by lowering my hands at address and standing a little further away from the ball. I released the putter instead of blocking everything to the right. (30 putts).
My irons were very good, but distance control was difficult with the wind conditions. I can't remember the last time I had to hit a 6-iron into #5 and a 5-iron into #18...both were from the 150 yd markers. A good time was had by all even though the playing conditions were about as bad as it gets.
